Prenate Elite
® is a
prenatal vitamin that is only available by prescription. Prenatal vitamins are multivitamin/mineral supplements designed specifically for pregnant women. This prenatal vitamin contains two forms of folate:
folic acid and Quatrefolic
®. Folic acid needs to be changed by the body to be active. However, Quatrefolic is already an active form of folate.

How Does Prenate Elite Work?
Prenate Elite prenatal vitamins contain a variety of vitamins and minerals that are important for a healthy pregnancy. Probably most importantly, the supplements contain 400 mcg of folic acid and 1.1 mg of Quatrefolic (which is equal to 600 mcg of folic acid). Folic acid and Quatrefolic are both forms of folate, an important nutrient that can prevent certain birth defects (such as
spina bifida). Unlike folic acid, Quatrefolic does not need to be changed by the body to be active.
The vitamins also contain iron,
calcium, and a variety of other vitamins and minerals.
