PremesisRx

A healthcare provider may prescribe PremesisRx to pregnant women who are having trouble with morning sickness. PremesisRx is a prenatal vitamin, but it only contains the basic vitamins and minerals that are typically found in prenatal vitamins (it does not contain iron and other vitamins that may contribute to morning sickness). PremesisRx comes in the form of a tablet that is taken once a day.

 

What Is PremesisRx?

PremesisRx® is a prescription prenatal vitamin that is specifically designed to help women who are having trouble with nausea or vomiting during pregnancy (more commonly known as morning sickness). While PremesisRx does not have all the vitamins and minerals that are typically found in prenatal vitamins, it contains just the basic essentials, along with vitamin B6, to help relieve morning sickness.

How Does PremesisRx Work?

PremesisRx prenatal vitamins contain a few different vitamins and minerals that are important for a healthy pregnancy.
 Probably most importantly, PremesisRx contains folic acid (1 mg per day), which helps to prevent certain birth defects, such as spina bifida. PremesisRx also contains calcium, vitamin B12, and a high dose of vitamin B6, which may help relieve morning sickness.
 
PremesisRx does not contain iron and some of the other vitamins and minerals typically found in prenatal vitamins, but this is done on purpose. PremesisRx contains just the absolute essentials, because iron and other ingredients may contribute to morning sickness. PremesisRx can also be taken in addition to a regular prenatal vitamin.
