5 Weeks Pregnant (Cont.)

Pregnancy Myth

True or false: You shouldn't exercise or have sex while you are pregnant.
The answer is FALSE.

Although you may hope not to exercise during your pregnancy, as long as your healthcare provider clears you medically, exercising during pregnancy is actually good for both you and your baby. Be sure to keep your heart rate below 135 and be sensible. Many women participate in pregnancy yoga classes, (it can help prepare your body for childbirth), but make sure to discuss this with your healthcare provider before running out and signing up!

As for sex, your baby is in its own little "water balloon" (amniotic sac), which is well padded and safe. Again, as long as you have a healthy pregnancy and your healthcare provider clears you, you may safely enjoy sex. And you don't have to worry about getting pregnant!
