36 Weeks Pregnant

When you're 36 weeks pregnant, your baby's fat is probably dimpling on his or her cheeks, elbows, and knees; he or she now likely weighs about 6 pounds. At 36 weeks pregnant, your nesting instinct may be hitting high gear as you prepare for the baby. Around week 36 of pregnancy, you'll probably have another prenatal checkup when your doctor may test you for an infection known as group B streptococcus.

36 Weeks Pregnant: An Overview

You are 36 weeks pregnant! You're almost there -- only 5 weeks to go (if your baby is not early or late, that is)! Did you know that only 5 percent of babies are born on their due date?

When you are 36 weeks pregnant, you may be feeling a bit overwhelmed.
At this point in your pregnancy, you may also be nesting even more than ever, finding yourself obsessively keeping busy cleaning and preparing for the baby. You may also be noticing that your belly is very itchy. Lather up with lots of lotion. While this will not stop stretch marks, it may help with the itchiness.

When you're 36 weeks pregnant, your baby is now probably about 13 inches long from crown to rump and weighs about 6 pounds.
