33 Weeks Pregnant: Helpful Tips for Mom

With labor and delivery less than two months away, mothers may be considering how they will cope with pain during childbirth. Commonly used techniques for pain relief include:
 
  • Breathing techniques, such as those taught in a Lamaze class
  • Pain relief medications given through injection or IV
  • Epidurals, an anesthetic administered by means of a soft, thin catheter that's placed in your lower back (similar to a spinal tap).
     
In order to decide which pain relief option to choose, talk with your healthcare provider and learn as much as you can about each option.
