Helpful Tips for Mom at 30 Weeks Pregnant

Most pregnant women find that the best sleeping position is on their left side. The aorta and vena cava are slightly to the right of the center of the back. Therefore, sleeping on your left side as much as possible will ensure an unobstructed blood flow to your organs and extremities. Maternity pillows, body pillows, and sleeping in a recliner may also help mothers who are having trouble sleeping.

30 Weeks Pregnant With Twins or Multiple Babies

Mothers who are carrying multiples should familiarize themselves with the symptoms of preeclampsia. A condition that progresses rapidly, preeclampsia is characterized by high blood pressure and the presence of protein in the urine. Preeclampsia is more common in women who are carrying multiples. Symptoms of preeclampsia include:

  • Severe headache
  • Seeing "spots" or "flashing lights" while at rest
  • Sudden increase in swelling, especially in the face
  • Abdominal pain
  • Nausea, vomiting, and feeling "sick."

If you experience any of these possible preeclampsia symptoms, you should contact your doctor immediately.
