23 Weeks Pregnant (Cont.)

23 Weeks Pregnant With Twins or Multiple Babies

If you are carrying multiples, familiarize yourself with the signs of preterm labor. Carrying multiple babies puts you at a higher risk for premature birth. Call your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of the following symptoms:

  • Sense of pelvic fullness
  • Recurrent contractions (four or more an hour)
  • Yellow, watery, or bloody vaginal discharge
  • Ruptured membranes
  • Cramping.

Pregnancy Myth

Can you tell the sex of your baby by the shape and placement of your baby in your belly? It is said that if you are carrying low, it's a boy; if you are carrying high, it's a girl.

This well-known pregnancy myth is false. Your body is the main predictor of how you carry your child while pregnant. The way you carry your child while you're pregnant is based on muscle tone, size, and many other variables. It has nothing to do with the sex of your baby.
