22 Weeks Pregnant
When you are 22 weeks pregnant, you will begin to steadily gain weight as your baby's development continues and he or she becomes stronger. At this stage, your baby may touch his or her face or various body parts to see how they move. At 22 weeks pregnant, you may experience irregular, painless contractions. These are normal. By week 22 of pregnancy, taste buds have started to form on the baby's tongue and his or her fingernails are now fully developed.
You are 22 weeks pregnant, and your baby is about 7.6 inches long and weighs about 12.3 ounces. Your baby's muscles are developing and becoming stronger week by week.
During week 22 of pregnancy, your baby will respond regularly to sound, rhythm, and melody. The sounds that your baby hears in your womb will soothe him or her after birth. Many women play their favorite music to their unborn baby as a way to soothe and comfort him or her during pregnancy.
