18 Weeks Pregnant
You may have a mid-pregnancy ultrasound between week 18 and week 22 of your pregnancy to assess fetal development and growth. Your healthcare provider may also use the ultrasound to verify your pregnancy due date. If your baby is in the right position, the ultrasound may even be able to determine whether it is a boy or a girl.
Ask your partner to go with you for the ultrasound, so you can experience the first glimpse of your baby together. Sonograms (images produced from an ultrasound) can't guarantee a healthy baby, but they can provide reassurance and spot potential problems.
Check with your sonographer ahead of time, and you may be able to bring a blank CD to record the ultrasound.
