What Is NataChew Used For?
NataChew® is a chewable
prenatal vitamin that is only available by prescription. Prenatal vitamins are vitamin and mineral supplements that are designed especially for pregnant women. They are used to fill in any nutritional gaps in the diets of pregnant women. Even women who try to eat well-balanced and nutritional diets may be prone to having nutritional gaps during pregnancy, due to morning sickness or other problems.
NataChew may also be useful for breastfeeding women and women trying to conceive. Because it is important to get enough
folic acid prior to pregnancy and during early pregnancy (including the early weeks before you even know you are pregnant), your healthcare provider may recommend that you take a prenatal vitamin while trying to get pregnant. In fact, because so many pregnancies are unplanned, it is a good idea for any sexually active woman of reproductive age to take a prenatal vitamin (or at least a multivitamin with a minimum of 400 mcg of folic acid).
Sometimes, the size and texture of prenatal vitamins can make morning sickness worse for pregnant women. In this case, a chewable prenatal vitamin (such as NataChew) may be helpful. Also, prenatal vitamins are rather large, and women who have trouble swallowing tablets may need to try the chewable form.
NataChew prenatal vitamins contain a variety of vitamins and minerals that are important for a healthy pregnancy. Probably most importantly, these prenatal vitamins contain folic acid (1 mg per day), an important nutrient that can prevent certain birth defects (such as
spina bifida). They also contain iron and a variety of other vitamins.
