PrimaCare Prenatal Vitamins
Getting the right nutrients -- and getting enough of them -- can be difficult during pregnancy. If you are having trouble filling in the nutritional gaps in your diet, your healthcare provider may recommend a prenatal vitamin such as PrimaCare® or PrimaCare One.
Unlike older prenatal vitamins, PrimaCare and PrimaCare One both contain a blend of omega-3 fatty acids, including:
- Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA)
- Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA)
- Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA)
- Linoleic acid (LA).
There are a few major differences between these two products. For example, PrimaCare (but not PrimaCare One) contains docusate sodium, a stool softener that can help relieve constipation, which is common during pregnancy. Also, the recommended dose for regular PrimaCare is one softgel in the morning and one tablet in the evening. For PrimaCare One, you only need to take one softgel daily, either during the day or at night.
