Pregnancy Home > Neevo Warnings and Precautions

There are several warnings and precautions to be aware of before starting Neevo. For example, it is important to know that the supplement can mask certain types of anemia (meaning anemia may not show up on blood tests). Before you start taking Neevo, make sure to let your healthcare provider know if you have anemia.

What Should I Tell My Healthcare Provider Before Taking Neevo?

You should talk with your healthcare provider prior to taking Neevo® if you have:
  • Anemia
  • Any allergies, including allergies to food, dyes, or preservatives.
Also, make sure to tell your healthcare provider about all other medicines you are taking, including prescription and non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements.

Specific Precautions and Warnings for Neevo

Some warnings and precautions to be aware of prior to taking Neevo include the following:
  • Neevo contains Metafolin®, a folate. Like all folates, Metafolin can mask certain types of anemia, meaning if you take enough Metafolin, certain types of anemia may not show up on blood tests. However, this does not apply to all types of anemia.

If you have anemia, check with your healthcare provider before taking Neevo. This is not a problem with iron-deficiency anemia (a common type of anemia in pregnant women).
