Gesticare Uses

Gesticare is helpful in providing extra nutrition for pregnant women. It is a prescription prenatal vitamin that contains iron, calcium, folic acid, and various other vitamins and minerals. There are also other uses for Gesticare. The supplement is also useful for women who are breastfeeding or trying to conceive; breastfeeding is a time of increased nutritional need, and folic acid is important during early pregnancy.

What Is Gesticare Used For?

Gesticare is a prescription prenatal vitamin. Prenatal vitamins are designed with pregnant and breastfeeding women in mind. They are used to fill in any nutritional gaps in the diet of pregnant and breastfeeding women. Gesticare is specially designed with delayed-release calcium, in order to improve the absorption of iron and calcium.

Even women who usually eat well-balanced and nutritional diets before pregnancy may have problems getting all the nutrition they need during pregnancy, due to morning sickness or other problems. Additionally, pregnancy and breastfeeding are times of increased nutritional need, and sometimes even a well-balanced diet cannot adequately meet the increased nutritional needs of pregnant or breastfeeding women.

Gesticare is also helpful for women trying to conceive. Because it is important to get enough folic acid prior to pregnancy and during early pregnancy (including the early weeks before you even know you are pregnant), your healthcare provider may recommend that you take a prenatal vitamin while trying to get pregnant. In fact, since so many pregnancies are unplanned, it is a good idea for any sexually active woman of reproductive age to take a prenatal vitamin (or at least a multivitamin with a minimum 400 mcg of folic acid).
