An Overview of Expecta and Breastfeeding
Expecta and Breastfeeding: What Does the Research Say?
DHA passes through breast milk. However, this is usually a very good and desirable thing. For an infant that is exclusively breastfed, breast milk is the only source of DHA. Keep in mind that Expecta Lipil is not a
prenatal vitamin and does not contain any vitamins and minerals. Many healthcare providers recommend that women who are breastfeeding take a prenatal vitamin, so Expecta Lipil should be taken in addition to (not in place of) your prenatal vitamin. It is a good idea to check and make sure that your prenatal vitamin does not already contain DHA (as several new prenatal vitamins do). If your prenatal vitamin already has DHA, you should not take Expecta Lipil.
