What Is DuetDHA Used For?

Duet^® DHA and DuetDHA^ec are prescription prenatal vitamins. Prenatal vitamins are specifically designed for pregnant women, and are used to fill in any nutritional gaps in a pregnant woman's diet. Even women who eat a well-balanced and nutritional diet before pregnancy may have problems getting all the nutrition they need during pregnancy, due to morning sickness or other problems.

 

Even though most people think that prenatal vitamins are only used during pregnancy, DuetDHA products are also useful for women trying to conceive or for use after childbirth (especially for women who choose to breastfeed). Because it is important to get enough folic acid prior to pregnancy and during early pregnancy (including the early weeks before you even know you are pregnant), your healthcare provider may recommend that you take a prenatal vitamin while trying to get pregnant. In fact, because so many pregnancies are unplanned, it is a good idea for any sexually active woman of reproductive age to take a prenatal vitamin (or at least a multivitamin with a minimum of 400 mcg of folic acid).
