Clomid Side Effects to Report

There are a number of less common but more serious side effects with Clomid that you should report immediately to your healthcare provider. These include, but are not limited to:

Severe abdominal pain (stomach pain)
Changes in vision
Signs of an allergic reaction, including an unexplained rash, itching, hives, unexplained swelling, wheezing, or difficulty breathing or swallowing.

Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) can occur with Clomid. OHSS is characterized by enlarged ovaries and can be extremely dangerous. In severe cases, the ovaries could rupture. Symptoms of OHSS include abdominal (stomach) pain or enlargement, upset stomach (nausea), vomiting, diarrhea, and weight gain. If you have these symptoms, contact your healthcare provider right away.

Rare Side Effects of Clomid

There are other possible Clomid side effects that can occur. These side effects occurred in less than 1 percent of patients taking Clomid. For these side effects, it is difficult to tell whether they are actually caused by Clomid or something else.

Some of these possible Clomid side effects include, but are not limited to:

Constipation
Depression (see Clomid and Depression)
Diarrhea
Dizziness
Fatigue or tiredness
Hair loss or dry hair (see Clomid and Hair Loss)
Increased appetite
Increased urination
Lightheadedness
Nervous tension
Skin rash
Trouble sleeping (insomnia)
Vaginal dryness (see Clomid and Vaginal Dryness)
A spinning sensation (vertigo)
Weight gain or loss (see Clomid and Weight Gain).
