A
 urinary tract infection (UTI) is an infection of the organs that are part of the urinary system. These include the:
 
  • Kidneys
  • Ureters
  • Bladder
  • Urethra.
 
These infections are usually easily treated with oral or IV antibiotics, and rarely will they increase the amount of time required to stay in the hospital after a c-section.
