What Is Carenatal DHA Used For?
Carenatal™
DHA is a
prenatal vitamin that is only available by prescription. Prenatal vitamins are supplements that are designed specifically with pregnant women in mind. They are used to supplement any nutritional gaps in a pregnant woman's diet. Even women who usually eat a well-balanced and nutritional diet before pregnancy may have problems getting all the nutrition they need during pregnancy, due to morning sickness or other problems.
Even though most people think that prenatal vitamins are only for pregnant women,
Carenatal DHA is also useful for women trying to conceive or for use after childbirth (particularly for women who choose to breastfeed). Because it is extremely important to get enough
folic acid before pregnancy and during early pregnancy (including the very early weeks before it is possible to know if you are pregnant), your healthcare provider may recommend that you take a prenatal vitamin while trying to get pregnant. In fact, because many pregnancies are unplanned, it is a good idea for any sexually active woman of reproductive age to take a prenatal vitamin (or at least a multivitamin with a minimum of 400 mcg of folic acid).
